In pulp and paper operations, data exists on two extremes: process control data updates by the second, while business data focuses on daily, monthly, or annual summaries. MOPS bridges this gap by consolidating, integrating, and distributing data into actionable insights through a robust suite of applications.
MOPS gathers data from diverse sources, including distributed control systems (DCS), quality control systems (QCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), data processing systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and more, creating a unified, comprehensive view of operations.

Manufacturing applications span production management, planning, scheduling, product tracking, warehousing, quality control, process management, and asset management. These functions are divided into two key layers: MIW (process and product focus) and MES (order fulfillment focus).
The MIW layer emphasizes the process and product side, addressing everything before the winder in a paper mill—where the foundation of quality is built. It integrates process data with relational databases and analytical tools, empowering decision-making to enhance productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and meet environmental standards. MIW pulls data from systems like DCS, QCS, MES, ERP, and more for comprehensive insights.
The MES layer focuses on fulfilling customer orders. It transforms order details into production instructions, specifying when and where customer rolls will be produced. From the winder onward, MES ensures the product is cut, converted, packaged, and routed to its destination—whether a warehouse or directly to the dock.
Together, these layers create a seamless connection between process optimization and order fulfillment, driving efficiency across the entire production cycle.

The MOPS product suite is built with a modular design so that new applications can be easily added at any time to the mill’s tool kit.
Services when needed
Project Services is mainly based on delivery projects, well defined and delivered according the project plan. The projects normally include engineering in Integration, Installation, Configuration, Development and Training.
Support
Support Services is a scalable service depending of the customers resource needs. The Services is defined and controlled via a support agreement to ensure customer to fast and easy enjoy professional support when needed.

What technology powers MOPS?
MOPS is built for the Windows platform using technologies making access available from other platforms. The MOPS platform is modular, composed of micro-services and micro-frontends, making it possible to customize and extend installations to meet the needs of each customer. The user interface is based on standard web browsers. Communication protocols are HTTP for regular service requests and MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) for asynchronous event distribution, ensuring access from any system.
